The information in this genealogical listing has been gathered from many different sources. I am very appreciative of all of the people who have contributed to this information. There are several persons who have contributed significant amounts of data to whom I would like to extend a special thank you.

1. Harry N. Althouse [ID #47] is my great uncle who provided me with the first self-published information on the Althaus/Althouse family. I also appreciate his encouragement for me to continue his work and expand on the data base. He also visited Elsoff, Germany in October 1975 to try to obtain additional information on our ancestors from that town. [Source #10]

2. George W. Althouse [ID #12] (my father) who expanded on the work of Harry N. Althouse [ID #47]. He did extensive research in the Reading Public Library, Berks County Recorder of Deeds office and the Historical Society of Berks County. He also visited many of the homesteads and gravesites to take pictures, some of which are included on these pages. [Source #1,4,10,27,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,43 ]

There are many other persons who have contributed information to this project. I hope they will forgive me for not including each name in this list. Even though not specifically named, I very much appreciate their help and information.

If anyone has published any additional genealogies about the Althaus/Althouse line, or other surnames I would appreciate you contacting me to arrange for me to obtain a copy.
